The “Métropole Européenne de Lille” (MEL), made up of 95 municipalities and home to 1.2 million inhabitants, holds numerous strategic responsibilities for the development of the region. It manages urban planning, public transport, waste management, water and sanitation services, as well as economic development and innovation. MEL also oversees housing policy, employment, energy transition, and the fight against climate change. Benefiting from a central location between Paris, Brussels, and London, MEL leverages its logistical, academic, and business potential. It actively supports the local economy, social inclusion, culture, and quality of life. Through its actions, MEL plays a key role in building a sustainable, inclusive, and competitive territory, serving both its residents and the businesses established in the area.
