This ambitious certification offers a practical and transformative methodology to measure an organisation’s impact, lay the foundations for growth and mobilise the necessary investment to respect our planet’s limits.

The certification which takes planetary limits into account
With the LUCIE One Planet certification, we assess you according to 12 precise, objective, measurable criteria aligned with the Kate Raworth’s Donut Economics model and the Planetary Boundaries of the Stockholm Resistance Centre, to identify your position in relation to planetary and social ceilings and floors. The, you build your long-term action plan, with the support of specialists of your choice and at your own pace, to achieve “net zero” within a maximum of 15 years.
If your transformation plan is scientifically sound and substantiated and if your commitment is credible and proportionate to your resources, our independent Certification Committee may award you the LUCIE One Planet certification and we will proceed to carry out monitoring evaluations every two years to ensure your success and maintain your certification. By using a triple accounting method to measure your economic, social, and environmental impact, the thresholds which must not be exceeded are clearly defined.

The LUCIE One Planet certification process at a glance
LUCIE One Planet is a demanding certification process which takes place over several years and guides you in establishing a pathway which respects planetary and social boundaries.
Does your plan need to mature?
You may want to take an intermediate step before tacking this demanding programme. If so, you can turn to the LUCIE 26000+ and LUCIE ESG+ certifications, which are specifically targeted at organisations which have already achieved a high level of maturity following their LUCIE 26000 or LUCIE ESG certification.
This will determine your position in comparison to planetary and social limits on the one hand and in comparison to the average in your sector of activity on the other. It acts as a springboard for your progress and helps consolidate your new economic model.

LUCIE One Planet is the only certification to guarantee that an organisation’s activity is really compatible with planetary and social limits. This turnkey methodology helps align an organisation’s activities with the main indicators in Kate Raworth’s Donut Economics model and the Planetary Limits of the Stockholm Resilience Centre.
The certification costs include:
- compulsory two-day training for at least one person This may be covered by your OPCO.
- an annual subscription (based on your turnover or operating budget); brand licensing fee, including access to all LUCIE Community tools, services and events. For organisations who are already LUCIE-certified, no additional subscription costs are due, the only additional cost is the audit, as well as any external consultancy services.

We wholeheartedly support this comprehensive approach with an in-depth training programme enabling you to confidently address all the mandatory indicators.
Recommended in “intra-enterprise” format i.e. within your own organisation, with a group of 5-10 people involved in the project. You can, however, also start with an “inter-enterprise” collective training format. Two in-house training sessions per year.
